From season to season in Forest Tale Daycare – Fun-filled February

February often brings the opportunity to discover the freezing world. Several traditions and habits are linked to this period as this is the time of saying goodbye to winter and welcome spring.

In the Forest Tale Daycare we prepare with roleplays, our projects will be built around colours, shapes and sensation. In the middle of February we will be dressed in costumes for a week according to different themes. Follow us here to get to know the details and feel free to join us. You can prepare your costumes and mascaras together with the children using colourful paints, pearls, beads or feathers. They can try out themselves in different roles while their imagination improves.

PLAY AT HOME

Cooking and baking winter delicates is a great opportunity to contribute to the development of the kids’ senses by introducing them distinctive, characteristic smells and savors. It is always exciting to recognize flavours blindfolded. You can try familiar tastes, such as orange, coffee, cinnamon and later on they can get to know new aromas like cardamom, anise, thyme or clove.

Soap bubbles are always fun and they can be even more special in freezing weather. Try them if there are less than -7°C to discover the crystallized magic balls they turn into. You can prepare bubbles for yourself mixing 5 dl of warm water, 2.5 dl of dishwasher gel, 3 spoons of glycerin and 1 teaspoon of sugar. It is recommended to let the liquid rest for a day before usage.

You can build an igloo using lego, wooden construction toys or hard paper. It is a good development for the mimic muscles to blow cotton balls into the igloo with the help of straws.

POEMS

Enjoy the winter poems and sayings about this period of the year and see you soon in the carnival bustle!

I’m a little snowman

I’m a little snowman
I’m a little snowman,
short and fat.
Here is my scarf,
and here is my hat.
When it’s cold and snowy,
I will stay.
But when it gets hot,
I melt away.

Great big snowman

I’m a great big snowman,
tall and fat.
Here is my tummy.
Here is my hat.
Raisins for my eyes,
and a carrot nose.
I’m all snow
from head to toe!

Four Seasons – Winter

The birds are gone, the world is white,
The winds are wild, they chill and bite;
The ground is thick with slush and sleet,
And I can barely feel my feet.

Winter animals

Winter is cold
There is snow in the sky
The squirrel gathers nuts
And the wild geese fly
The fluffy red fox
Has his fur to keep warm
The bear’s in her cave
Sleeping all through the storm.

Polar Bear

Polar Bear, polar bear,
where will you sleep?
I will sleep in my cave,
until I am ready to eat!
Polar bear, polar bear,
what will you eat?
I will eat a big seal,
for my morning threat!

Mr. Groundhog

Mr. Groundhog underground
Nice and warm and sleeping sound.
Time to wake up it’s your day.
We want to know what you will say.
See your shadow, no, no, no!
Six more weeks of cold and snow!
Lots of clouds hurray, hurray!
That means spring is on its way!
