„Ficánkoló” Coordination Improving Exercises from Kati Kárpáti – Balance Exercises

Dear Very Little and Little Ones! I have chosen my first game recommendations from the group of balance exercises because this is the very first movement we start experiencing, right in the belly of our moms.
You don’t need any special tools, you can start the exercises right away.
Hold your baby in your hands and then place him/her on your arm (always keep his/her
head!). Swing the baby slowly in different directions, telling rhymes:

  •  Forward and back
  • Left and right
  • Up and down
  • In a half and a total circle.

Bigger children can sit in your laps to be able to see the way of speaking, the movements of
your lips and tongue. It is a good way to help the development of the communication of the
child.

For the next game, you will need a blanket and 2 helping hands. Let the child lie on the
blanket, hold 2-2 corners of it tight, and make it swing in every direction – for the time of a
rhyme. In the end, put the blanket down to a carpet carefully and help the child out.
In case you have a big ball at home, it also improves the coordination of the child if (s)he lies
on the ball facing the ground and you move the ball slowly in every direction. Pay attention,
don’t let them fall down for the excitement.
I wish you a pleasant time and lots of fun,
Kati Kárpáti
