“Ficánkoló” Coordination Improving Exercises from Kati Kárpáti – Balance Exercises 3.

Dear Little and Very Little Ones. In the last days, we helped the development of our balance to improve the coordination of the children. Now – still 🙂 – let’s practice some more balancing situations to strengthen and deepen the focus of our children.
For our next play, find a pair of old winter socks – our little ones can help us do it. Let the child hide a big handful of beans, lentils, or rice in them. This activity improves fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination as well. It is fun to fill the bags differently and then try to find out what is inside the socks. When we are ready, make a knot on the sock so they don’t make a mess. 🙂

Our cat-play can start right away.

Little ones can crawl on all fours, having one of the socks on their backs. Take care and try not to lose it!
The cat starts walking slowly and then it gets faster. It can go forward, backward, and maybe to the side as well. How far can it carry the package? Further and further – carry on! 🙂
Now the cat stretches – one arm is lifted up in the air. Try to keep this position for a while. Then the other arm comes, put down the previous one, lift up and stretch with the other arm, while both knees stay on the ground. Go forward and then back, slowly, sneaking, like cats.
In case the sock falls down – no worries! Bend down the neck facing the belly and try to look at it. Where is it? Go and try to find it going backward.
You can also tell a rhyme or sing a song about a cat and clap or stamp the rhythm in front of a mirror.

I wish you a pleasant and joyful time! 🙂
